It's Complicated

This week on Get Canceled, Sheryl and her guest, comedian and author, Matt Nagin continue their conversation on the unintended consequences of the #Me Too Movement.  Suddenly, women had the ability to destroy a man's reputation if they chose to do so.  While most women are telling the truth when it comes to sexual assault, it is irresponsible to assume that there aren't a few nefarious players.  #Me Too also led to a lot of confusion as to what sexual assault is.  Making bad choices because you are drunk is not the same as being forced into a sexual situation ... that is called the next morning regret.  And many men got caught in this wake and unfairly labeled as a predator.  Let's not forget the cases where women intentionally lied and faced no accountability for their actions.  Then Sheryl and Matt discuss the effects of todays pornography on young men.  The graphic, violent, and often incestuous nature that we see in porn could not be more daunting.  The fantasy of a pizza delivery guy or plumber coming to fix one's pipes is benign compared to what is being produced today.  It is no secret that adolescents and sometimes kids stumble across this content.  So we must ask, how does this imagery effect a developing mind?  And does this contribute to creating a sexual predator?
